I love this place! Most people go to the West Macs but if you want peace and quiet then the East Macs is the place to go. It had been raining solid for 4 days when we first arrived in Alice Springs and on the first clear day me and Chris headed out to check out the gorges and waterholes.
The first stop on the East Macs is Emily and Jessie Gap where you can see aboriginal rock art. We went to the Corroboree Rock next and did the base walk and then headed to Trephina Gorge. Because it had been raining everywhere was lush and green and beautiful.

Because Ruby Gap was closed due to the amount of rain, our final stop was John Hayes Rockhole. You need a 4x4 to get to it and it can take a while but its worth it when you get there. There are 2 waterholes and because it had been raining there was a waterfall so it looked absolutely stunning!

The East Macs is definitely a highlight of staying in Alice Springs. Me and Chris have both been a few times now and love it!
